KnocScore™

Who should connect?

Experience leaves a trail. Applications, software, and hardware can contribute evidence of their users' interactions to KnocScore. Each interaction becomes part of a portable profile they control.

01 · Who should connect

Anyone that conveys
capability, skill, and knowledge.

Applications

1 . Applications

Provided by someone other than the platform owner.

Software that may be provided from an app store or elsewhere, where the operator is not the platform owner.

Software

2 . Software

Operated by the platform owner.

Software where the operator is the platform owner.

Instrumented hardware: sensor bat, flight simulator, helmet camera

3. Hardware

Instrumented devices.

Performance data contributes to an observed user's metrics within the domain, profession, or skill. Analysis provides the understanding and analytics.

  • Simulators
  • Instrumented tools — for example, a baseball bat and baseball
  • Farm machinery — a tractor fitted with sensors
  • Camera-enabled environments — a camera on a helmet
  • Glasses with an integrated camera
  • Trade work — an electrician on a wind farm

Measured effort, shown in a table

Metric Measures
Time Effort over time
Strength Force applied
Specialized Field-specific metric
Electrician wearing camera-integrated glasses working on a wind turbine at a wind farm

4. Camera-enabled environments

A trade worker on a wind farm.

An electrician wearing camera-integrated glasses works the turbine's electrical panel. The work is recorded as it happens, and analysis provides the understanding and analytics.

Farmer driving a tractor across a tilled field

5. Instrumented machines

A farmer driving a tractor.

Sensors on the machine record the work over time. Effort, duration, and field-specific metrics contribute to the operator's metrics within the domain.

Examples

Camera-enabled glasses

6. Augmented Reality Systems

Skills and Analysis

A camera integrated into the frame; analysis provides the understanding and analytics.

Strategy combat game

7. Games

Strategy combat game

Decisions and tactics in play convey strategic skill.

Chemistry flashcards

8. Learning

Chemistry flashcards

Study and recall convey knowledge of the field.

Real-world simulation games

Games that recreate a real activity and report what happened. The play is the practice, so the session becomes evidence of the skill being worked on.

Hand-to-hand combat simulation.

9. Hand to Hand Combat

Hand-to-hand combat simulation.

Gloves, headgear, and tracking sensors capture strikes, blocks, and reaction time across rounds.

Baseball simulation.

10. Baseball

Baseball simulation.

A batter, a pitching machine, and a record of pitch speed, release point, swing path, and exit velocity.

Cycling on rollers.

11. Cycling

Cycling on rollers.

An ordinary road bike on rollers — three drums in a low frame, the wheels resting freely on top. The rider has to balance while pedaling, a device professional cyclists train on.

How evidence flows

From work, to the person who did it.

Providers send

1.Applications

Apps report what users actually do.

2.Software

Platform-run tools send completed work.

3.Hardware

Instrumented devices capture real tasks.

4.Games & learning

Simulations and study record skill.

KnocScore

Each interaction becomes a piece of evidence.

Evidence analyzed

The observed user

5.Has access

The observed user sees all of their evidence.

6.Controls who sees it

They decide who can view it, and when.

02 · Providers

Provider categories
fall into three types.

1. Content-Focused

Users produce content that requires analysis to understand fields and domains of knowledge.

The content is the focus of the interaction. Example: Text Editor

  • Writing
  • Code
  • Forum answers
  • Course exercises
  • Support responses

2. Practice-focused

Users perform tasks tied to a profession with little variation in the field or domain of knowledge.

There may be no content to analyze — proper, consistent use is itself practicing the art of the field. Example: Calculator, Game-Simulator

  • Field-specific tools
  • Professional software
  • Instrumented systems

3. Hybrid

The practice is the activity and the content.

Fields where the work is measured by how it is practiced rather than any single piece of content. Example: Software Editing Tools

  • Law
  • News reporting

Research and experimental integrations are reviewed individually. Every provider earns its connection — approval reflects real users, genuine interactions, and reliable evidence.

03 · What providers send

A short record
of each interaction.

Each interaction is an evidence particle. Providers send interactions their users have authorized, from their own server — users' data never goes to KnocScore straight from the browser.

Interactions fall into four kinds: discussion, creation, practice, and study. Study is further split into free recall and prompted interactions.

Who

The end user the interaction belongs to, so it reaches the right profile.

Duration

How long the session lasted.

Participants

How many people took part, and who else was involved.

Corpus

The session's text or activity — the material KnocScore analyzes.

04 · What users see

Results your users
can see right away.

Fields of knowledge

The distinct domains detected in the session.

Skills

The distinct skills the work demonstrated.

Competence & complexity

Average competence and complexity for the session.

Time & volume

Session minutes and the amount of work analyzed.

Providers show this in their own app — for example behind a "View results" button.

The Contributor Symbol

Connected providers can display the Contributor Symbol, telling users their contributions count toward a future they've built. Approved providers also get a public connection page confirming they are accepted and connected.

05 · Source trust

Not every source
is trusted equally.

Trust is never granted automatically. Each provider's evidence is rated by the probability it is correct — based on independent oversight, transparency, accountability, and the consequences of inaccuracy.

I

Concrete evidence

The interaction and the individual are directly observed and verified — live applications that show the work was done by the person, not AI or someone else.

II

Strong structural guarantee

Independent oversight and real consequences for errors — for example, patents maintained by the USPTO or EPO.

III

Limited transparency

Peer oversight with limited visibility — for example, academic publications.

IV

Third-party reports

Supervisor reports, recommendations, and grades that are hard to verify independently.

V

Weak sources

Social media, résumés, and other self-reported claims.

06 · Connecting

Easy to connect.
Easy to use.

Simple

Connecting, sending, and receiving takes a short, familiar round trip.

User friendly

Results come back in one response, ready to show your users.

AI enabled

Documentation is published for AI coding assistants, so they can help wire it up.

Give user's a strong reasonto choose you.
